About the video:
This video features one of IraqStar's first disfigured soldiers, Marine Staff Sargent Paul McQuigg, and IraqStar Founder Maggie Lockridge.
IraqStar is a non-profit foundation providing reconstructive surgery for returning Iraq War veterans.
Burns, shrapnel and artillery wounds leave disfiguring scars. IED's are the signature injury of the over 24,000 returning wounded veterans. The VA provides limited essential surgery to make the soldier functional again. Cosmetic and re-constructive surgeries essential to return to their pre-war professional and social lives must be performed elsewhere and funded by the individual.
